Adrienne and Joe we love you guys and are praying for you as God works in your lives and the lives of all those people that you are touching. Uncle Fred and I love reading your posts and often relate to many of the cultural things that you are dealing with. Weird food, animals, facilities, cooking rituals, living accomodations etc. The difference is that our 3rd World experience is always within a very short distance from major malls and banking machines. Our Oma lives in a kompang that is a very small room adjacent to an old building covered with a rickety tin roof that is right across the street from lovely apartments but, also, beside the local market. When I go there they all oome out to greet me. She is a sweetheart, all bent over and has no idea of her age but keeps working and delights at hanging around our apartment. The people are great the world over and so helpful and friendly as your stories share. You will come home so enriched and view things so very differently and appreciate everyone and everything more. Travel will be in your blood. I'm at the point that if a bug is in my drink or food I just reach in and throw it out, whereas before I wouldn't eat or drink it. We are so coddled at home. Your parents miss you so very much. We got together with them at Christmas and I cannot wait to hear your Mom's take on things when she comes back. We love you guys, pray for you, think of you very often, and appreciate the gift of service and love for our Lord that you are demonstrating to your many friends at home. Love Uncle Fred and Aunty Peggy
