Pictures of our trip to Ghana

Considering we are basically vegetarians in Kabala, one can see why this Christmas dinner in Ghana, although tasty, ended up not agreeing with our stomachs.
One really cool thing about Ghana are the many castles that exist along the coast that were built during the slave trade by competing European countries. We took a ton of pictures of us at one of them in a city called Elmina.

A tour through the smampy mangroves...no monkeys or giant salamanders spotted, unfortunately...
This is why the geckos that hang out on our walls are our friends.

The next five pics were taken from the Green Turtle Lodge, an "ECO-tourism" (Environment and Community Oriented tourism) centered lodge, mainly drawing the backpacker crowd.

This is a shot about 1 hour after we and our guide got lost, and were basically bushwacking through the jungle while carrying/dragging our mtn. bikes. Notice the "trail" behind Adrienne that we had to "bike" on.
This is an early shot of our guided mountain bike tour…notice the cheery smiles and positive attitudes.
A view of the locals from one of our nicer hotels that we stayed in…this in-your-face contrast was difficult to come to grips with.

This mall was very much like any North American Mall....major reverse culture shock
